It is recognized as the country’s largest and oldest distributor of optics and laser technologies. Militram was founded by Ram Lachower, who started the business on his own with the guidance and help of his father, Yeshayahu Lachower. Yeshayahu Lachower was a renowned defense procurement official who served as head of the Israeli Ministry of Defense’s supply and procurement mission in the 1950s. Under Ram’s leadership, Militram leveraged this legacy of defense industry connections to expand its portfolio and client base. In the 2010s, Ram’s son Benjamin Lachower joined the company at the age of 21, marking the entry of the third generation. Benjamin Lachower worked in various departments and gradually rose through the ranks, taking on managerial roles in marketing and operations. He is now part of Militram’s leadership team, helping guide the company’s strategy and business development. The Lachower family’s continued involvement underscores Militram’s commitment to continuity, experience, and long-term vision in a fast-evolving technological field.
